In continuing to look at qualities I appreciate and value in others...
Flexible:
This is huge in my opinion. As an organization grows, it must continue to change and adapt to meet the needs of people and pursue its vision with effectiveness. In a church, often times that means ministries that are no longer effective need to be cut, the purpose of a particular ministry is clarified or changed, and/or the demands of a ministry increases.
With all of that, the people who lead and serve within those ministries must remain flexible. Flexible people adapt to change. In fact, they welcome it and understand that it is inevitable within any church that wants to truly make a difference in the world. Flexible people are willing to serve in a different capacity if needed. They understand that any ministry is truly God's and not their own, so in turn, their pride doesn't get in the way of growth.
Change is often times painful for some. We all adapt to it at different rates. Some are early adopters. Others have questions, but as those are answered, they welcome the change. I recently sat in a meeting where a leader was giving up a big part of their role, that they truly loved, and yet knew by giving it up, greater things would come. He even said that he didn't want his pride to get in the way of needed change. Incredible!
I love that...I love flexible people. They are willing to follow Jesus wherever and whenever.

Dave I agree. God want to stretch us in our walk. It is easier said than done. Our pride gets so in the way. I have to remember it is God's ministry NOT MINE.
