Twitter-mony

Alright, my mind seems to running all the time so random ministry ideas pop into my head a lot. Tonight as I took out the garbage (a very spiritual task), two ideas popped in my head. One was to ask a couple in our church to share their testimony for an upcoming series, which I think is going to rock by the way. The other was this...twitter-mony.

Twitter is a 'micro-blogging' tool where you're limited to posts of 140 characters (see the side bar of my blog...there you'll see some of my recent twitter posts, known as tweets). Anyways, I was talking to a friend who said at their church, they recently had people share their testimony of how Jesus has changed their lives in 100 words or less. That idea goes along with this video I've seen on youtube and have heard many other churches doing. I like it.

So in thinking of the parameters of a twitter post, how would you describe what Jesus has done and continues to do in your life in just 140 characters. You'd be surprised how short that is. You may have to use some text language to make it happen (ie: B4). But what if it forced you to narrow it down to such a point where you could easily share with a friend, in a very simple and straight forward way?! I think it could be powerful.

Even beyond your testimony of how Jesus saved you, what if you could give simple stories of faith in 140 characters or less of how He continues to work in your life? Once again, I think it could be powerful stuff! I think it would look good on a future Crosspoint website even?!

I'm going to work on mine, and put something out later this week on the blog. I encourage you to do the same, and then post yours as a response to mine.
